To reduce what\u2019s on your hard drive, remove all of the files you no longer need and put some others on an external hard drive.<\/p>\n<p>Also, run your anti-virus and anti-spyware software to make sure that your computer is not infected.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, run a firewall application, which may help to further increase your computer\u2019s speed of operation.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to make sure that you are not running any autoloading programs that you don\u2019t need as these will significantly slow your computer. This happens especially with new computers that are often packed with bundled programs that reload every time your computer boots. You don\u2019t need to remove these programs, just turn off their autoloading function.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, try not to upload new programs. The more you upload, the slower your computer will run.<\/p>\n<p>If there still seems to be an issue because your computer is running slow, you may want to consider upgrading your hard drive to a solid-state drive (SSD).
